KNPC Innovation Committee Organizes the 1st "Hackathon" in Bahrain

KNPC Innovation Committee organized the "First Hackathon" as part of the Gulf Downstream Association 2nd meeting activities, hosted by Bahrain, with Kuwaiti participation by KNPC and KIPIC, ARAMCO from KSA, ADNOC of UAE and BABCO Bahrain,
 
With the attendance of KNPC CEO Waleed Al Bader, the event witnessed participation of over 50 employees belong to the Gulf, regional, as well as global oil companies.
 
KNPC Hackathon team of engineers Bader Al-Harbi, Shaima’a Ameen, and Altaf Al-Sanafi ran the event meetings leaning on their experience in the basics and methodology of design thinking to guide and show the participating teams’ members the proposed solutions, while the jury undertook assessing the teams’ performance, and announcing the three winners, honored later by the GDA council.
 
KNPC Chairman of the Digital Transformation and Innovation Committees, Eng., Bassam Al-Shammari gave a presentation on innovation, where he underlined the importance of organizing such events in reviling hidden talents, sharing information, exchanging experiences, and promoting cooperation among employees of the Gulf companies, besides the other hackathon benefits of coming up with creative solutions to address the competition’s  challenges.
 
Al-Shammari praised KNPC Hackathon team members who exerted intensive efforts preparing the event, to manifest a best practice that the Company takes pride in where regional refining sector leaderships came together with other experts from different disciplines in this vital sector business.
