"Hydrocarbon Processing" Magazine Publishes an Article Written by MAA Refinery Engineers

In a move that demonstrates the excellence in performance of the KNPC Employees, the International Hydrocarbon Processing Magazine, specialized in the refining and gas industry, published recently an Article written by the Operations Planning Team at MAA Refinery. It is the first time that such a well-known Magazine has published an article that reflects the deep expertise gained by the Company's Engineers.

The Article tackles the great efforts made by the Refinery's workers to produce low-sulfur bunker fuel, in their endeavor to meet the strict specifications imposed by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), which stipulates a maximum of 0.5% of sulfur in bunker fuel.

The Article also covers a comprehensive analysis of the quality controls and production of Bunker Fuel Oil (BFO) and the experience of the MAA Refinery in this field. In addition, it reviews the alternatives and studies conducted by the workers in the Refinery to overcome the challenges and difficulties they faced, such as viscosity, blending processes, product isolation and others, which contributed to the fact that KNPC has become a pioneer in achieving this success at the regional level.

The Article was published in the electronic issue of the Magazine last April, whereas it will be published as a hardcopy upcoming August. You can view it via the following link:
