Al-Dibdibah Solar Project Team Receives British Embassy Delegation

“Al-Dibdibah” Solar Project Team, headed by Projects Department II Manager Reyad Al-Tourah received a delegation from the British Embassy including Director of Trade Ms. Shikha Tiwari and Senior Trade Adviser Oil, Gas / Renewables Mr. Alan Menezes. The visit aimed at getting familiar with the Project and discussing the opportunities of participation and cooperation between the United Kingdom and Kuwait in the clean energy field.

Al-Tourah said the Project meant to diversify the energy sources in the State of Kuwait, and is the second phase of the renewable energy so as to contribute to achieving the vision of His Highness the Amir to provide 15% of Kuwait's electricity needs from renewable energy sources by 2030.

Project Team Leader Meshal Al-Saeidi submitted a presentation on the Project’s scope of work, its objectives and the implementation stages thereof, noting that the project's production capacity will be 1.5 GW, equivalent to at least 3,150 GWh in the twenty-fifth year of operation, relying entirely on photovoltaic (PV) panels, without the need to store energy.

The team members entertained the attendees’ questions and queries about the said Project.
