KNPC Participates in “SHAMEL 4”
Under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh and by the Presence of Ahmadi Governor Sheikh Fawaz Al-Khalid Al-Sabah, KNPC participated in “SHAMEL 4” Drill which was organized by Fire Service Directorate. However, 13 government authorities that deal with critical incidents and emergency cases participated in the drill that simulates explosions, fires and oil spills and spread of dangerous substances at an oil installation.
Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Interior, National Guard, Ministry of Information, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Electricity & Water, Ministry of Public Works, Kuwait Municipality, Environment Public Authority, KOC and KNPC dealt with the incident. Several teams of these authorities rushed to the scene to control the incident, save lives, treat injuries, halt spread of dangerous substances and fight pollution.
At the end of the drill, Al-Khalid honored the participating authorities and handed a plaque to MAA Chief Fire Officer Belal Al-Enezi.
