MAB Administration Building has been awarded the Green Building Silver Certificate under existing buildings category by the Gulf Organization for Research & Development (GORD), thus being the second building of KNPC to obtain such a certificate. Moreover, Administration Building at Al-Zour Refinery has won the “Two-Star” Certificate for the new Buildings under Construction category. Both Buildings have met the conditions of Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS) successfully.
KNPC CEO Mohammed Ghazi Al-Mutairi, Acting KIPIC CEO Hatem Al-Awadhi, some DCEOs, R & T Dept. Manager Walid Al-Ghawas, R & T Team Leader Lamia Al-Kendari as well as GORD CEO Dr. Yousif Al-Horr received the two certificates.
Al-Mutairi pointed out that this is the second achievement of KNPC when the Head Office was awarded the Gold Certificate in 2017 as the first existing building in Kuwait to obtain such kind a certificate, as part of a memorandum of understanding between KNPC and GORD aiming at taking necessary steps to cooperate in terms of green buildings and sustainability. “We are striving now to improve the evaluation degree as well as to prepare more buildings to obtain future evaluation certificates,” added Al-Mutairi.
