The 5th Liquefied Petroleum Gas Train is one of the largest Projects for KNPC in terms of importance and productivity. Comprises of new Units in the southern part of Mina Al-Ahmadi Refinery, adjacent to the 4th Gas Train in the Refinery. The new Train processes the Natural Gas produced at the KOC fields.
KNPC has already four Gas Trains at Mina Al-Ahmadi Refinery with a total capacity of 2,320 mmscfd of Gas and 226 mbpd of Condensates and LPG.
The 5Th Liquefied Petroleum Gas Train produces 805 mmscfpd of Gas and 106 mbpd of Condensates and LPG to boost the LPG plant’s total capacity to 3,125 mmscfd of Gas and 332 mbpd of Condensates and LPG consecutively, i.e. an approximate 30% increase. The 5th Gas Train produces Propane, Butane, Methane, Ethane and Natural Gasoline.
