Supplier Partnership Advisory Council (SPAC)

KNPC is planning to establish a partnership advisory council to strengthen communication with local contractors and manufacturers. The vision is to form a council with representatives from local sector Suppliers/ Contractors as one of the initiatives of the project "Suppliers Partnership Program."

The Purpose from establishing the Council is to promote continuous communication between KNPC and its local suppliers and contractors; whereby the Council provides advises on all matters related to the implementation of KPC Mechanism; which consists of recommendations on supporting national products and local companies. Additionally, the Council recommends new ways for supporting local contractors and manufacturers.

The roles envisioned for SPAC include:

  1. Allow both parties to listen and understand the concerns of each other.

  2. Provide a Forum for KNPC to learn the needs, requirements, and expectations of its local suppliers and vice-versa.

  3. Allow KNPC to receive feedback, evaluation, and suggestions of its performance in supplier-related matters; e.g. information on new specifications, contractual practices, payments, and disputes resolutions procedure.

  4. Inform KNPC of new business trends related to local sector suppliers. This could include the availability of new materials or technical capabilities through the local market.

  5. Act as an advisory board to KNPC on Supplier matters.

  6. Support joint planning and forecasting.

  7. Support local products and national manufacturers; and suggest effective and new implementation facets of KPC/KNPC NCS recommendations.

  8. Suggest new ideas and services for encouraging the local sector.

It is also envisioned that the Council will meet quarterly and its recommendations are sent for approval to the C&MD of KNPC. Once approved, the recommendations are executed.
